Obviously that's now ruled out. I took out the 4GB one & put 2GB in place of that, it turns on. it won't turn on, same issue as before... ComputerGuy, You did say that the screen comes on, which is why I suggested safe mode for basic drivers, it might work. useful reference

Now i have more ram sticks, i thought the 4GB died out so I place a new one in the second slot.. What I mean by can you boot another machine from that USB is exactly that. That way either one you have should boot provided the media on the port or optical is bootable.
