In an effort to make its performance embargoes meaningful, AMD moved some dates around. I'm an EX PC business owner (8yrs) and a certified PC tech. I want AA and AF both full blast in all games, I think anand needs to rerun some benchmarks doing this which shows the benefits of 512bit bus. It's reasonable to think they'd drop the current $429 price of the 9800GX2 card if they're saving that 40% die size 2 times on a card correct? read this article
Every benchmark that I have seen, including those at Anandtech, show this to be the case. I didn't say Nvidia wasn't worried. I just hoped for more from AMD and a bigger nvidia drop...LOL. Reply formulav8 - Friday, June 20, 2008 - link It would be interesting to see if these new drivers will do anything for the new card. They shot too low, just like phenom vs Core2. Care to place a bet on FY09?...Don't make me laugh.
With 2.5x the stream processor count, the RV770 isn't going to be a small chip, while we can't reveal transistor count quite yet you can make a reasonable guess. http://www.pcper.com/article.php?type=expert&a...">http://www.pcper.com/article.php?type=expert&a... Photoshop CS4 will use this stuff. Yes you can SLI GTX 280's, but for how much? This area includes gun fire coming from all around you, fires burning, flares brightening the night sky, and heat waves given off by the tank’s engine that all take their toll

The GeForce 9800 GX2 continued to impress rendering 71fps which is an amazing achievement at this resolution.
This turn Nvidia has lost, no matter what they do; although I have to admit that I like it if you get your crystal ball and foretell us the future... I've seen a lot of different audio solutions, built a ton of pc's and know some don't sound like the others. Tough luck, I'm comparing methodologies when one sucks. Sure you can give it to me, but you better give me what to expect at home also, which is the MINIMUM I can expect.
I know you guys wanted the x2 to trounce or remain competitive with this "bump". Do not compare testing methodologies of hardocp with anandtech, there have been enough discussions about this in the past. So I think its reasonable to assume that people who buy screens capable of such resolutions will put some thought into using either SLI or crossfire, or a dual gpu solution Also, I find it disturbing that 9600GTs can do nearly what this thing can do, probably at less power ( who knows you didn't review power consumption like every other card
Otherwise, I am giving up :) ganeshts: @FPiednoel D845EPT2 Celeron CPU ? The Radeon HD 4850 and GeForce 9800 GT graphics cards complete the sub-$200 pack delivering excellent performance with an average of 50fps. At 2560x1600 the competition can’t even get in the same hemisphere as the GTX 280 is 4x faster than the GX2 and 3870 X2." At 1920x1200 it was 1.6x faster! http://sortpictures.net/call-of/call-of-duty-3.html The current GT-200 and most like the die shrink will be a single card, dual slot solution.
World in Conflict has always been accused of being too CPU bound to be any good, but these results paint an interesting picture of the situation. It's as simple as that RyanSmithAT: @nicolbolas00 @IanCutress Thanks for the heads up. I said they have an answer for all of AMD's cards.
I'm thinking $370 for the 9800GX2+ or so is easy. To me, it smacks of laziness. Put two of these cards in an SLI configuration to get Quad SLI and you should have a pretty interesting comparison between the GT200 series cards to see where the performance It's not conjecture. :) I'm not saying AMD doesn't have a good card.
An avg CLEARLY from both sites in my previous post (pcpers and hardocp) do NOT tell the TRUE story. We did experiment by turning the water quality to “Normal” to see if that bug might be affecting the 9800 GX2, but it did not solve our low performance with high Nobody is forcing you buy one. browse this site They produced the same results and more showing domination for GTX280.
But once Crysis comes on, so does the discrete video card and it is off to the races. Reply hooflung - Tuesday, March 18, 2008 - link A single slot solution that isn't much better than a SLI 9600GT setup at those highest of high resolutions. NOT for avgs that won't cut it in the real world. The current 9800GTX is dropping about $30-40 and the die shrink is dropping the chip size by 40% (see http://www.pcper.com/comments.php?nid=5817)">http://www.pcper.com/comments.php?nid=5817).
With Modern Warfare we finally move out of World War 2 era and into the present. The new ASUS ROG gaming monitor Hack a Day Prize kicks off today for those with creative spirits and skills Intel Officially Kicks Off Optane Launch with SSD DC P4800X Mass Even the GeForce 8800 GTX fell below 40fps. Can you prove anything about the quality of the audio coming from AMD's cards?
My current 8800GT can't do what I want in ALL games at 1920x1200 (native on Dell 24in). It costs quite a bit of money to develop and produce single GPU solutions of ever increasing die size and complexity. There is no 'improved quality' with a digital signal. But just like phenom, they needed MORE here also.
There is always a price for having the best of the best. We’ve updated our terms. We played COD 4 with the water detail on “Low” and “Normal” and found the same performance. All trademarks used are properties of their respective owners.
It is 42% faster than the 9800 GX2, 56% faster than the 9800 GTX and 76% faster than the HD 3870 X2 at 1920x1200!?
