The only way I can be sure I'm not doing any harm to the drive is by shutting down the system, removing the USB cable, and rebooting the computer. I've been driven mad by an external hard drive that wouldn't eject. Close all of your Windows Explorer windows, along with any programs that might be holding onto a file from the drive. This carries no risk for the drive hardware, but it does put your data at Disconnect the disk from your computer, and then start up your computer again.The only other thing I can think of trying a 'Force Quit' on the application.Ciao.
