I have a Acer Aspire 5810T with windows 7 and I have the same problem. The tooth pick tip was black after clean ( carbon deposit?) Result….Mac Air started charging !!!!! Is that the problem? Thank you so much for your genius advice.
This was it!!My 8 month-old had gotten her mouth on it, I knew that, but couldn't tell how she could'e damaged the charger!! There is a real issue with powering the laptop; now it's simply a matter of figuring out where the problem may be. so happy! Check that the removable sliding part, about 20mm x 10mm x 10mm is seated right against the main white case.
