Are images still repeating in quick succession? Assuming there isn't a bug, the program behavior doesn't seem to match with what I can figure out of the code logic. Hope this helps. The last element is the screensaver.

You don't necessarily need your disks. You may want to see if a diagnostic tool is running in the background that is causing your PC not to go into idle mode. After restarting DF wallpaper changes resumed normally.
