Once it's installed you should be able to change the brightness while having the same performance as your video card. Normally I was adjusting the brightness with F11 and F12, they don't work now. From there, select "Generic PnP Monitor" (or whatever driver your card came with) and hit next. Remember the monitor itself may have different defaults depending on the brand and age. It finally worked. Lenovo Screen Brightness Not Working I had installed the Intel HD 4000 Graphics and AMD Radeon Graphics drivers. First I opened the notification center and right clicked on brightness. You go into properties for it and it can automatically find and install the right drivers. Check the following and make sure that you don't have the "large icons" checked. anyway, turn the brightness all the way down, press it up once and you will see the screen flash. The controls were showing up but no matter which profile I would set up it would jump to 10% after a few minutes. Also the sleep mode no longer functions and system is normal in the Admin scan. The button is back and everything.
